Dot NAME Domain Name Registrations

Set up in 2001, the Dot NAME domain extension is the only one intended for personal websites only. These domains can include personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other titles people are popular by. Initially, just 3rd-level registrations were allowed, so if you wished to secure john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already acquired third-level domain names remained functional.

Through our firm, you can reserve your dot NAME domain for a period between 1 and 10 years. You will have the opportunity to edit the WHOIS info, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an active domain to our firm if you get its EPP transfer authorization key from the present registrar company and we will renew it once the transfer has been completed. There are no special terms on who can buy a dot NAME domain name, but in order to keep the concept behind its creation alive, the dot NAME Registry organization may check who the Registrant is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain, the registration could be challenged.
